In this interdisciplinary course students use design principles of natural language to construct  their own language and fictional world, while exploring language, creativity, and the arts. Students explore how creativity shapes language and how language is used creatively. Topics include the nature of creativity, principles of natural language design, spoken and signed languages; language games; meaning, culture, and metaphor; writing systems and calligraphy; and language in literature and film.
